WarmUp Cincy Grant Deadline Extended (City of Cincinnati)

Apartment Building Owners have more time to apply for energy efficiency funding

The WarmUp Cincy program has two grant opportunities for owners/managers of apartment buildings in Cincinnati. The grants provide funding for energy efficiency capital upgrades.

Matching Grant Program – up to $5000
You may be eligible for a grant of up to $5,000 to upgrade your apartment building.

Currently, nearly $80,000 total is available for grants up to $5,000. Applicants must present at least a 1:1 match on project proposals. Buildings must be located within the city of Cincinnati and upgrades must be electricity efficiency related. Building tenants must be at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level and responsible for their individual unit electricity bill.

Flagship Energy Efficiency Program – up to $200,000
The City Manager’s Office is seeking bids for Multifamily Energy Efficiency Capital Upgrades Program (RFP805OESSMECUP). The program provides $200,000 in funding, financing, and technical support for large apartment buildings that serve residents at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. The selected project will work with city staff to case study the investment in capital energy efficiency upgrades along with the other project requirements. Income eligible renters in Cincinnati can participate in our WarmUp Cincy program and receive:

  • a free energy assessment of your apartment unit and an energy strategy for your family
  • free energy efficiency upgrades to your apartment based on the energy assessment
  • energy tips and basic energy efficiency education programming
  • up to $500 on your Duke Energy account

Families must live in Cincinnati and live in a multi-family building, and have an income of 200% or below the Federal Poverty Limit.
